• Elementary-aged students compete for several prizes, including $100 grand prize.

The seventh annual Coloring Book Contest will be in full-swing this week for all elementary-aged students.

The yearly contest, hosted by Edward’s Law Office in Etna, boasts a $100 grand prize. There are also prizes for individual coloring pages. Prizes vary, depending on the business sponsoring the page.

This year’s coloring book is bigger than ever, a testament to the growing community support.  “We are very

proud of it,” said JR Richert from Edward’s Law Office during an appearance on the Weekday Wake-Up morning show. He encourages everyone to acknowledge and thank the sponsors who participate and allow the contest to happen each year.

With many community events leading up to Christmas, he is happy that their contest is “the beginning of the Christmas train.”

Students are encouraged to color as many pages as they would like and to submit them, according instructions provided on each coloring page.

Richert shared his joy in seeing the young participants’ artwork displayed in his office. “I’m always looking forward to when the young people come into my office and they fill up my walls with artwork,” he said.

The contest not only provides a platform for children to showcase their creativity but also strengthens ties between local businesses and the community. With each sponsor offering unique prizes for their coloring pages, students have multiple opportunities to win while spreading holiday cheer.

Coloring books will be distributed to all Star Valley elementary schools, county libraries in Star Valley and available for pickup at Edwards Law Office in Etna.
