Alpine’s annual Mountain Days celebration is scheduled for June 20-22 at the Don Wooden Civic Center and the Marge Grover Memorial Park. As the 35th anniversary of the Mountain Days tradition, this festival offers attractions for families and individuals of all ages.
“Alpine Mountain Days is more than just a festival – it’s a celebration of our community, our heritage, and the beautiful mountain spirit that defines Alpine,” shared Town of Alpine Public Works Administrator Melody Leseberg. This tradition was started in 1990 by Jan Rollins and Marge Grover. “Their vision of bringing people together with music, culture, crafts, and community fun lives on.”
Festival guests can expect to enjoy live music, Native American activities, mountain men at the Great Western Antler Rendezvous, a chili cookoff, children’s games, wildlife presentations, an interactive art project, and over 75 food and merchandise vendors. Evening concerts offering live music feature Carson Hasher and Ellie Mae, who both bring fresh country styles to the summer crowd.
Carla Stone’s Chili Cook-off, sponsored by Rotary Club of Star Valley, is taking place on Saturday from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Gazebo in downtown Alpine. Guests are invited to taste all the chili entries for only $5 each and vote for their favorite chili.
Three items of interest will be available by raffle drawing at 3 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Top of the Rockies and Jenkins Lumber are offering a three-burner Blackstone grill. Dave Hansen Whitewater Rafting is offering a scenic river trip for four, and First Bank of Wyoming is offering a paddle boarding expedition. A Ruger American Rifle Generation II is also scheduled for raffle. You do not need to be present to win. Additionally, there will be smaller items of interest raffled off throughout the festival.
“We’re especially excited about this year’s lineup,” Leseberg added. “Whether you come for the free pancake breakfast, the birds of prey demonstration, or just to soak in the mountain air and good company, there’s something for everyone.”
Admission to the festival is free, and all are welcome.
