Members of the 4-H Hog Squad Club are offering a service fundraiser to place 20 or more miniature flags in yards throughout the valley to celebrate our Nation’s birthday. Proceeds from the fundraiser go toward stall fees for the club members’ hogs at the Lincoln County Fair and other miscellaneous expenses that emerge during the summer season.

“One of our club members came up with this idea,” said Candice Jensen, who partners with Hanna Buxman as a leader to the club of 31 members between ages 8 and 17 who raise and show pigs for their 4H projects. “We are having the kids sell 20 flags for $20.

You can buy the flags for your yard or for someone else’s yard.”

Folks who would like to support the fundraiser need to place their order by Wednesday, June 25 at 3 p.m. so that the club can have all the flags on hand that they will need. The five by eight-inch flags will be delivered by club members and posted throughout the designated yard or lawn on July 1 and 2. Yard owners will then keep the flags. The 4H will not return to retrieve them.

Jensen stated that Venmo is the preferred method of payment for this project, which relieves the need to arrange for payment in person. When placing their order, folks must include the address where they would like the flags posted. If you have any questions or would like to make other arrangements, please contact Jensen directly at 307-248- 1450.

“It’s a great opportunity to support a local 4H club and show off your patriotism,” Jensen concluded.
