The following is a news release from the Town of Alpine –
On the evening of Thursday, June 26, 2025, at approximately 9:30 PM, a major transmission water line broke, causing a significant loss of pressure throughout the water distribution system.
Crews have been working diligently through the night to restore service. Water is expected to be back on today by 5:00 PM, June 27.
Due to the drop in pressure, there is a risk that contaminants could potentially enter the system through cracks, joints, or breaks—conditions that can allow for backpressure or back siphonage. While no contamination has been detected at this time, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires that we issue a precautionary Boil Water Advisory under
these conditions.
• BOIL WATER ADVISORY DETAILS
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Bring all water to a rolling boil for at least three (3) minutes, then allow it to cool before using.
Alternatively, use bottled water.
Boiled or bottled water should be used for:
Drinking
Making ice
Brushing teeth
Washing dishes
Food preparation
Any water stored, or ice made from tap water since the break occurred, should be discarded immediately.
This advisory will remain in effect until testing confirms the water is safe to consume. We will issue an update once the boil water notice can be lifted.
BOTTLED WATER DISTRIBUTION FOR AFFECTED RESIDENTS
To support residents during this time, bottled water is available at the Alpine Fire Department:
Today, June 27: Until 5:00 PM
Tomorrow, June 28: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Sunday, June 29: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
When staff are not present, a pallet of bottled water will be left outside for public access.
We thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. Please stay tuned for updates as water testing and restoration efforts continue. For questions or concerns, please contact the Town Hall at 307-654-7757
