Stage One restrictions include any open fire or discharge of any class of fireworks on all state and private land within the county.
Exemptions to the restrictions include:
According to the resolution, violation of the restrictions may result in a fine not to exceed $100 or imprisonment not to exceed thirty days or both.
The Bridger-Teton National Forest put in similar restrictions on all forest service land on August 12. Those restrictions included any fire, including charcoal and briquettes, except in a permanent metal or concrete fire pit or in a fully enclosed metal stove with a chimney. All fireworks and explosives, smoking and welding are also prohibited on forest service land.
The fire danger rating for the Teton Interagency Dispatch area remains at “very high,” meaning a fire may start easily, spread rapidly and burn intensely.
