Dollar Lake Fire explodes to roughly 700 acres in single afternoon

A fast moving fire burning in the Green River Lakes area of Sublette County exploded Thursday afternoon, burning roughly 700 acres.

According to the National Interagency Fire Center, the Dollar Lake Fire burning in the Pinedale Ranger District of the Bridger-Teton National Forest was 762 acres in size as of 10:00 p.m. Thursday. The fire had only been burning for a few hours, as it was first reported at roughly 2:00 p.m. early in the day. The area has been evacuated.
