Two former University of Wyoming Cowboys squared off against one another Sunday during Week 4 of the NFL season. Whether it was Josh Allen evading Carl Granderson or Granderson chasing down Allen, the two did their best at their respective positions to help their team.
In the end, it was Allen and Buffalo who prevailed to improve to 4-0 on the season, while New Orleans dropped to 0-4 on the year. Allen finished 16-for-22 for 209 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while adding 45 yards on seven carries and one score on the ground. Granderson piled up five tackles, one sack of Allen, two tackles for loss and one quarterback hit.
For the season, Allen is 85-for-121 for 964 yards with seven touchdowns and just two picks. He’s accumulated 159 yards on 31 carries with three scores via his legs. The Bills host New England on Sunday Night Football.
For the season, Granderson owns 20 tackles, 4.5 sacks – which ranks in a tie for third best in the league – six tackles for loss, two passes defended and five quarterback hits. The Saints host the New York Giants in Week 5.
Below is a list of all the former Wyoming Cowboys and how they closed out the month of September.
Andrew Wingard, Jacksonville Jaguars
Wingard put forth a solid game in the Jaguars’ 26-21 win at San Francisco. He racked up five tackles and one pass defended.
For the season, Wingard owns 22 tackles, one interception, one fumble recovery and two passes defended for 3-1 Jacksonville.
The Jaguars host Kansas City on Monday Night Football.
Logan Wilson, Cincinnati Bengals
Wilson had another decent day in the Bengals’ 28-3 loss at Denver. He logged five tackles for the second straight week.
For the season, Wilson has registered 25 tackles and has defended three passes for 2-2 Cincinnati.
The Bengals host Detroit in Week 5.
Marcus Epps, Philadelphia Eagles
Epps found his way into the stat book for the second consecutive week in the Eagles’ 31-25 win at Tampa Bay. He logged one tackle.
For the season, Epps has two tackles for 4-0 Philadelphia.
The Eagles host Denver in Week 5.
Chad Muma, Indianapolis Colts
Muma was active for his second game of the season in the Colts’ 27-20 loss at the Los Angeles Rams. He had his most productive day with a pair of tackles.
For the season, Muma has made three tackles for 3-1 Indianapolis.
The Colts host the Raiders in Week 5.
Frank Crum, Denver Broncos
Crum wasn’t active for the fourth straight week in the Broncos’ 28-3 win over Cincinnati.
Treyton Welch, New Orleans Saints
Welch has yet to be elevated from the practice squad.
