BONNEVILLE COUNTY, Idaho – Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a fatality crash which occurred on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 6:55 A.M., on US26 at mile marker 365 in Bonneville County.
A 2010 Volkswagen CC was traveling eastbound on US26, driven by a 30-year-old male from Idaho Falls, when it struck a cow that was on the roadway and became disabled in the travel lane. Due to thick fog and darkness in the area a 2019 Ram 2500 pick up, driven by a 19-year-old male from Idaho Falls, that was traveling eastbound struck the Volkswagen.
The driver of the Volkswagen succumbed to his injury at the scene. The driver of the Ram was not injured.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Idaho State Police was assisted by Idaho Transportation Department, Bonneville County Sheriff, Swan Valley Fire Department, and Idaho Falls Ambulance.
US26 was blocked for approximately 4 hours while crews investigated.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
