• ‘We want to do what is best for Alpine.”

As he acknowledged two major hotel projects, one complete  within the community and the other underway at a major highway intersection, Alpine Mayor Erick Green noted the constant growth in recent years and the summer of 2024 was no exception.

Single family homes and multi family homes are under construction.

“Alpine is the fastest growing town in Wyoming and no sign of it slowing down,” said Mayor Green. “We need to make sure we have responsible growth and there is meaning for the growth.”

The mayor said planning for the future includes keeping people at home to work.

“Our goal is to have fewer people commuting to Jackson,” he said. “We want people to live here and work here.”

As the community grows, the mayor said additional businesses will come and he hopes additional restaurants as part of that growth.

“We have great jobs with the new hotels. They give people a place to stay, but we still need restaurants,” the mayor added.

The mayor emphasized the need for organized, long term planning as the community grows. He said that planning is underway as part of an Alpine Master Plan.

“We hope to have people have a voice on what they want and on how Alpine will look in the future.”

He noted a large development south of the town was canceled and suggested that was a better decision as the community develops  the master plan.

“We want to let people know that we are here and we want to do what is best for Alpine and we are just trying to make sure we do it right.”
