The Alpine Town Council has called on the Lincoln County Commission to make their meetings available to the public through a live-stream broadcast program.

The action came in the form of a unanimously passed resolution at the Oct. 7 Town Council meeting.

An Oct. 11, letter was also sent to the commission, noting the resolution.

“Dear Commissioners,

At the October 7, 2025, regular meeting of the Alpine Town Council, the Council unanimously passed Resolution 2025-046, recommending that the Lincoln County Commission begin live streaming and recording its commission meetings to increase accessibility and transparency for the public.

The Town Council believes this effort would greatly benefit residents throughout Lincoln County by allowing broader participation and awareness of county matters, especially for citizens who are unable to attend meetings in person.

The Town of Thayne has also passed a similar resolution, and other municipalities are considering comparable actions.

We appreciate your attention to this matter and your continued service to Lincoln County residents Please do not hesitate to contact our office if you have questions or would like to discuss this further.

Sincerely,  Eric Green Mayor, Town of Alpine”

In passing the resolution, Mayor Green noted Alpine’s success with that community’s in live-stream town council meetings.

At the same time, Alpine shared their request with eight Lincoln County incorporated municipalities.

Thayne has already responded, passing a similar resolution at the October meeting.

“We as a Town have asked the commissioners for years to please broadcast their meeting and most of the time we would never get a response back or they would defect the request, so when Mayor Green said that Alpine had drafted a resolution he asked if we would consider joining them which we happily agreed to,” noted Thayne Mayor Devin Simpson.

“We as residents all want transparency, we all want to know what’s going on within our county especially given the significant changes that are going on.”

He added, “The county has the ability to broadcast all their meetings on YouTube just like the state does and just like the town of Thayne is doing.  That is all we are asking is for them to broadcast their meeting.”

Joining with Alpine and Thayne in passing resolutions in support for the idea, the town of Afton did so as well in their council meeting on Tuesday October 14.
