The Star Valley Arts Council’s second annual Art Auction Fundraiser was held Saturday, July 5, at the Donn Wooden Civic Center in Alpine. Proceeds from the event totaled $13,500, with all money going to benefit the arts council in its mission to provide art experience and education to Star Valley. The Council raffled a gallery wrapped canvas print of Doug Monson’s “Wyoming Legend 399” which earned $2,300 in raffle purchases.

“We are incredibly grateful to our community for showing up with such generosity and support,” said SVAC Executive Director, Lxi Weber, following the event. Approximately 100 individuals attended the evening festivities, where they had the opportunity to bid on 11 pieces that were offered at live auction and many others submitted bids online for the silent auction that offered another 60 items.

Jamie Wells painted live for the event, rendering an art piece that featured Johnny Cash. Star Valley High School’s Chamber Quartet offered live music for the evening. Hors d’oeuvres and chocolates were provided by Broulim’s of Alpine and Papa’s Fine Chocolates from Montpelier. Prohibition Outpost served as bartender for the evening. Macy Marie Floral created the floral centerpieces. Rick Darcy with Rodeo Rick Auction Services out of Casper served as the auctioneer.

“This fundraiser not only raised essential funds for our programs, but also reminded us of how powerful the arts can be in bringing people together,” Weber offered with gratitude. “We couldn’t have done this without the support of our artists, volunteers, and everyone who contributed.”
