Road will remain open with restrictions

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) and contract crews from Reiman Corp will begin work on a bridge deck epoxy overlay on the Snake River Bridge in Alpine on U.S. Highway 89. According to WYDOT, work will take place during daytime hours due to favorable temperatures needed for the epoxy overlay. The epoxy overlay

work is scheduled for three days, weather permitting.

The work will require lane closures in both the east and westbound lanes. The bridge will remain open to two-lane traffic, but drivers will see a 14-foot width restriction while work is underway. Delays may occur, and motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra travel time.

“The Town of Alpine encourages all drivers to use caution in the construction zone, reduce speeds, remain alert for workers and equipment, and avoid distracted driving,” stated the Town of Alpine in a released statement. “The Town appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as this maintenance work is completed to help preserve the safety and longevity of this important transportation corridor.”

Residents and travelers may obtain current road conditions and construction updates through WYDOT by visiting www.wyoroad.info, calling 511, or using the Wyoming 511 mobile application.
