The following is a press release from Lower Valley Energy. More details will be provided in the August 20 edition of the Star Valley Independent.

The Lower Valley Energy Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Devin Simpson to fill the immediate District 2 board opening. Following an open application process and comprehensive candidate interviews, the Board selected Simpson, who previously ran against Fred Brog in the last annual election, to represent District 2 member-owners.
Simpson will serve until the June 2026 Annual Meeting, at which time this seat will be open for general election. This appointment ensures continued representation for District 2 members as the cooperative works to provide reliable, affordable energy services to the community.
District #2 comprises all areas north of Strawberry Creek Road and White Tail lane. The eastern boundary is Highway 89 to the Teton County boundary in the Snake River Canyon. All areas west of Highway 89 in Etna and Thayne are included in this district. This district includes the town of Alpine at the municipal boundary, along with Freedom, Wayan, Irwin, Swan Valley and Lane’s Creek.
