A fatal accident occurred east of Alpine on Highway 89 Wednesday, May 14.

At roughly 4:00 p.m. Star Valley EMS and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene for a report of a head-on collision between a pickup truck and passenger car. The accident resulted in the closure of the road between Alpine and Hoback Junction until shortly after 5:00 p.m.

WYDOT Teton County confirmed that the incident was fatal, but no further have been released. Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
