Grant directed to Alpine transportation plan project

The Alpine Town Council met on Aug. 5, 2025, at Town Hall. Key updates included progress on the Town’s Master Plan, with a stakeholder meeting scheduled for August 19.

Clerk/Treasurer Chenault reported the Town received a $60,000 Governor’s Infrastructure Matching Funds grant, fully covering the local match for the Safe Streets for All transportation master plan project. She expressed appreciation to Lincoln County’s grant coordinator Mary and Assistant Clerk Sarah Greenwald for their work on the successful application.

Public Works reported completion of the Town’s portion of the radio-read water meter project, with interior installations to begin Aug. 18, and provided updates on the pretreatment plant and Civic Center lighting retrofit.

The town council approved several resolutions, including:

• America 250 Grant Program application for a long-term cultural project.

• Civic Center Lighting Retrofit to improve lighting quality and energy efficiency.

• Budget amendment for wastewater pretreatment facility planning.

• Level III funding application to connect Well No. 4 (“mega well”) to the water system.

• Emergency Action Planning Committee appointments.

• Emergency budget increase for wastewater mixer replacement.
