Great things come in small packages, and SVI Media has recently engaged a petite but dynamic addition to the team. The fuse is lit, and our new Multimedia Specialist, Aubrey Hale, is poised to take SVI into a new era of offerings through powerful Social Media and Digital Communication services.

Born and raised in Claremont, California, Aubrey became interested in Communications as a freshman at BYU-Idaho in the Fall of 2017. She paused her studies to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Helsinki, Finland and entered the Communications program in Rexburg upon her return in 2020.

As she worked to complete her degree in Communications with an Emphasis on Public Relations and a minor in Social and Digital Media, Aubrey enlarged her skills in photography, videography and social media by creating social media content for friends, family, the university, and local business owners.

In her final semester at BYU-Idaho, Aubrey met Star Valley native Jared Hale, the son of Ben and Jamie Hale, at a bonfire and “sparks flew,” Aubrey grinned. After her graduation in 2022, she worked for the University as an Admissions Coordinator, where she used her skills in Social Media and Communications to recruit and facilitate the admissions process. “I traveled the nation presenting and hosting outreach events to encourage students to gain a higher education” and to encourage them to consider attending BYU-Idaho.

Jared and Aubrey married in May of 2023 and Aubrey continued her work in the admissions office while Jared completed his studies. When he graduated, he was offered a position in the Accounting Department at Star Valley Health, the couple chose to accept the job and return to Jared’s home town in September of 2024, which brought Aubrey to SVI.

She hit the ground running with weekly written contributions to the newspaper, occasional radio voicing, and managing the SVI Sports Network Instagram and Facebook accounts, which provide coverage of all football, basketball, wrestling, signing dates and “pretty much anything involving sports.”

Aubrey’s most dynamic work at SVI, however, is just beginning. With her specialized skillset, SVI Media has launched a new Social Media and Digital Communications service to local businesses and organizations, which offers professional management of social media accounts and online presence for SVI’s clients.

SVI’s new service offers “another online presence to help clients promote their local business, company or service to the valley and beyond.” Aubrey does it all. She takes photos, videos and creates the content for their social media presence with paid advertising and account management. She can program the advertising demographics to reach almost any specific target audience.

Aubrey’s work looks like fun, but it’s very serious business with powerful influence for clients. “I manage every aspect of the process, from designing content and capturing high-quality photos and videos to posting and curating social media platforms from the ground up. My role is to handle as much of the social media management as my clients require, including responding to comments and overseeing daily operations, ensuring a seamless and effective online presence.”

Aubrey is actively connecting with local businesses throughout Star Valley and is open to collaborating with anyone interested in social media advertising. Her goal is to help businesses grow by reaching locals and tourists.

Aubrey has been including SVI’s marketing tool in her efforts called Geofencing, which uses location-based technology to target ads to people when they are near a specific area. A virtual boundary is set around a location, and when users enter that area, they receive personalized ads or offers on their mobile devices through GPS. Geofencing also tracks how effective the ads are. “For example, if someone clicks on an ad and then visits the business, the system can track that visit and show how well the ad worked.”

Social media has evolved into a vehicle that expands the reach of your advertising, and the possibilities are “limitless.” It has the power to bring customers to your webpage and right to your door. “Social media is a great resource to increase sales and business as well as reach a broader audience.”

“With Star Valley being a highly trafficked place during many seasons, creating an online presence allows those travelers to see your establishment and come and visit.” People planning to travel, especially the younger generations will “go to Instagram or Facebook to look things up.” It’s more engaging and informative and just user-friendly because a lot of people nowadays have social media. “Since moving here, I have learned about countless businesses and services that my other friends did not know about and they have lived here almost their whole lives. Social media can help with that!”

Aubrey doesn’t just talk about results—she delivers them, as demonstrated by the impressive analytics from the SVI Sports Network Instagram and a recent ad campaign she ran for SVI Alpine. The ad for the new Alpine website reached almost 17,000 views, with nearly 700 people clicking the link and visiting svialpine.com. What business wouldn’t benefit from an additional 700 views?
