A Wyoming nonprofit received a five-year grant to help more Wyoming families, nonprofits and small businesses find affordable health coverage.

For more than a decade, Enroll Wyoming has provided free assistance to those who need health coverage or want to know more about their health insurance plans. This process is focused on empowering people to make informed decisions and find solutions that meet their individual needs.

Comparing choices and understanding health coverage applications can be difficult, which is where Enroll Wyoming’s skilled navigators step in. They are located all over the Equality State and are trained to provide fair and impartial information. Thanks to grant funding, they do not have sales quotas or incentives.

“I have so many success stories it is hard to name one,” Northwest Navigator Nancy Drummond said. “But I love to see the surprise on my consumers’ faces when we get a plan for them that they can afford and then they have health insurance.”

Almost everyone Enroll Wyoming works with finds quality coverage through the health insurance marketplace, which was created to increase access and affordability. More than 42,000 people in Wyoming signed up for marketplace health plans in 2024. Additionally, people may qualify for tax credits and other cost savings that make coverage cheaper.

Open enrollment doesn’t restart until Nov. 1, but people may still qualify for special enrollment through life-changing events like losing health insurance, getting married or divorced, or gaining a dependent.

Enroll Wyoming constantly works to find new ways and partners to spread the word about the free assistance it offers. Recent examples include a campaign to let Native Americans know about year-round marketplace access and a new video series on Enroll Wyoming’s YouTube channel.
