Salt River Meat Company is sponsoring a raffle fundraiser to benefit the three food banks in Star Valley. The Quarter for a Cause event is offering three different packages to raffle winners, with a fully processed quarter beef as the grand prize. Drawing is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026.
In response to recent protein donation complications at the Afton Food Pantry, Salt River Meats has chosen to sell raffle tickets at $20 per ticket or six tickets for $100 to restore the meat that was lost to the pantry. Three winners will come away from the raffle with one of three prizes.
The grand prize winner will receive a fully processed quarter beef from local producer Kent Johnson. “We have used this producer before, and he always provides a quality product,” said Salt River Meat Co. Owner, Dee Harbach.
Second prize is a Steak Package with four Ribeye, four New York and two Tenderloin steak cuts. Third prize is a Breakfast Package, offering six pounds of bacon, four pounds of pork sausage and a dozen farm fresh eggs.
Tickets may be purchased until drawing time on January 2. Folks can purchase tickets by calling 307-885-6328 and paying through Venmo, or they can stop by Salt River Meat Company at 40 West 5th Avenue in Afton.
Harbach is pleased to offer this support to the food banks at this season of the year and invites the community to join the cause. “Don’t miss your chance to win quality beef to fill your freezer – all while helping support our local food banks!”
