• King will also lead Star Valley Chamber of Commerce
Robert King, the newly appointed Director of Lincoln County Economic Development, is poised to make a significant impact on the region. His vision centers on supporting existing businesses while enhancing travel and tourism across all towns in the county.
“We still have travel and tourism that affects every city,” King notes, highlighting the importance of showcasing the unique offerings of each community. By working closely with local boards and leveraging the Lodging Tax, he aims to amplify advertising efforts, inviting visitors to experience the county’s natural beauty but then to “go away,” shared King.
King is also focused on identifying gaps for new businesses. “There is going to be significant growth,” he explains. “It may be transit growth, but we need to be prepared for that.” As part of this initiative, he is collaborating on a transit master plan, collecting data to determine the county’s needs.
In addition to his role in economic development, King will take the helm at the Star Valley Chamber of Commerce. “It’s all a part of my retirement plan,” he chuckles, recognizing the synergy between the two roles. “They work hand in hand, and it will be a great thing to coordinate all those efforts.”
King encourages aspiring entrepreneurs to reach out, saying, “If you want to start a business, give me a call at 307-226-5667. I’d be happy to assist anyone.” His proactive approach and commitment to collaboration position Lincoln County for a bright economic future.
