• Suspects being held in Idaho awaiting extradition to Wyoming
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for the rightful owners of multiple items that were stolen from local storage units. Lincoln County Sheriff Shane Johnson advised anyone who is currently renting a unit to check and make sure all of their items are accounted for, and to contact the Sheriff’s Office if anything is missing.
“We fully expect to have more burglaries reported, just some people haven’t noticed it yet,” said Johnson. “We currently have a variety of tools, outdoor gear, some stereo and D.J. equipment and there’s an old accordion.”

Johnson said they are aware of roughly ten units that were burglarized late last year in Star Valley, with more units hit in neighboring counties of both Wyoming and Idaho. A nearly six week investigation led to search warrants for two suspects, Cody Stephen Carlisle, 30, and Marissa Annette Fronce, 26, both of Irwin, Idaho. Both were taken into custody on December 10, 2024 following a joint operation with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Afton Police Department and Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.
“The investigation began on November 1 when the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office began investigating a series of storage unit burglaries in Afton, Thayne and Alpine,” stated Sheriff Johnson at the time the arrests were made. “Among the items stolen were jewelry, designer handbags, household goods and firearms. In total, there were nine storage units broken into. It is believed the crimes occurred in mid to late October and were discovered between November 1 and November 27.”

According to Johnson, investigators were able to recover stolen property in Idaho Falls, Idaho following information provided by one of the victims. As the investigation continued, the sheriff’s office was able to obtain evidence that additional stolen property was being stored at two residences in the Swan Valley area and in a vehicle.
“We had to get a cargo trailer to recover all the property,” explained Johnson. “There was so much it wasn’t going to fit in the deputy’s truck. So we took a trailer over and inventoried all that property. We’ve returned some of that but we still have some of that and are looking for victims.”
Both Carlisle and Fronce remain in custody in Bonneville County. Carlisle is currently serving time for additional charges in Idaho, after which he will be sent to Lincoln County to face the charges for the burglaries that took place in Star Valley. According to Sheriff Johnson, he expects Fronce to be extradited to the Lincoln County Jail in Kemmerer in a couple of weeks where she will face the local charges.
