The Star Valley Arts Council (SVAC) is hosting its second annual Art Auction Fundraiser on Saturday, July 5 from 7-9 p.m. at the Donn Wooden Civic Center in Alpine. With 70 pieces of art created by local artists available by auction or raffle drawing, art collectors can expect to find something of interest. All proceeds benefit the SVAC in its mission to provide art exposure and education to the residents and guests of Star Valley.
“We have collected incredible art for our event this year,” SVAC Executive Director, Lxi Weber, told SVI Media. “I’m blown away by the talent we have in this area, and this is such a great event because it benefits both the Star Valley Arts Council and all of the participating artists.”
Guests to the auction event can expect a high-class evening offering hors d’oeuvres, beverages, handmade chocolates, live music and “so much art!”
The focal raffle offering is a 38 by 58-inch gallery wrapped canvas print by Doug Monson, titled “Wyoming Legend 399”, valued at $1,200. Raffle ticket sales are open now at starvalleyarts.org or can be purchased at the fundraiser event. Tickets are $10 each, or 12 for $100. The raffle drawing will take place that evening. You do not need to be present to win.
Art enthusiasts who are unable to attend the event in person can take advantage of a new bidding platform available to the event this year. “Even if people can’t attend, they can still purchase art and support our cause,” Weber encouraged. The link to all auction pieces will be posted on starvalleyarts.org at 10 a.m. the morning of July 5, which will allow interested parties to preview the art. Bidding through that same link opens at 7:15 p.m. that evening and closes at 8:50 p.m.
“Please come and enjoy this beautiful evening filled with amazing art and the stories and individuals who inspired its creation,” said Weber. “We are so grateful for your support.”
