Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray called into the Weekday Wake-Up on Monday, April 6 to promote his Star Valley Meet and Greet, which takes place from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at the Thayne Community Center. Secretary Gray is running for Wyoming’s lone seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

(0:00) Welcoming on the air Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray this morning and of (0:04) course running for the United States Congress, Wyoming’s lone U.S. House of (0:08) Representatives seat. Secretary Gray, good morning. How are you today? Great, (0:13) great to be on.

Thanks for having me. Really excited about our meet-and-greet (0:16) tomorrow at the Thane Community Center at 6 p.m. Tell us what people should (0:21) expect when they come to that meet-and-greet tomorrow night. Well, we’re (0:25) going to have a little bit of a discussion and we’re going to have some (0:28) refreshments and then we’re going to have Q&A and just excited to meet (0:32) everybody that is able to come.

It’s at 6 p.m. at the Thane Community Center (0:37) tomorrow, a Tuesday. Really excited about this Star Valley meet-and-greet so it’d (0:43) be great to see Star Valley at this at this event at 6 p.m. tomorrow at the (0:48) Thane Community Center. Secretary Gray, tell us why you decided to enter the race (0:53) for the U.S. House.

Well, I really started to discern on this when Harriet (0:59) Hageman decided to run for U.S. Senate replacing Senator Lummis, who retired, and (1:06) just really discerned that this was a place that I could serve the people of (1:10) Wyoming. Working on and stopping a lot of these attacks on our industries that the (1:16) radical left has been doing for decades, whether it’s attacks on coal, oil and (1:21) gas, soda ash, ag, I mean our industries have been under attack for decades and I (1:28) think it’s important that we continue to have representation in the Congress that (1:32) is going to push back on these attacks from the radical left. And we’ve got to (1:36) back up the great work of President Trump, protecting the border, stopping (1:40) illegal immigration, and then also having responsible management of federal lands.

I (1:47) know there’s been a lot of issues on management up there. We must keep public (1:51) lands in public hands. We must do that.

But it’s also very important that we (1:57) have that responsible federal management encouraging and making sure there is (2:03) multiple use and also making sure that the resource is is protected. That’s (2:09) Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray running for the U.S. Congress and again a (2:13) meet-and-greet tomorrow Tuesday April 7th 6 to 8 p.m. at the Thayne Community (2:18) Center that’s in room 100 at the Thayne Community Center tomorrow night with (2:22) Secretary Gray. Secretary Gray, appreciate your time.

Thank you so much. (2:26) We’ll see you tomorrow night. All right, thanks for having me on.

6 p.m. tomorrow (2:31) Tuesday night at the Thayne Community Center. Our Star Valley meet-and-greet for a run (2:36) for U.S. Congress. Really excited to see everybody there.

It’s all part of the (2:39) weekday wake-up this morning on the SBI radio network.
