WYDOT CREWS MOVING SNOW, PREPPING SITE, STILL SHOOTING FOR JULY OPENING –
The Big Fill slide caused major traffic snarls a year ago as the road was destroyed, forcing commuters from the Idaho side of the Tetons and others to take the alternate route through Alpine on their way to Jackson for work.
The job caused a major reaction at the state level who authorized additional funding to complete the work.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation, Ames Construction along with sub contractors, Evans Construction and Clearwater S&L were tasked with rebuilding the area.
