For the second straight semester, the University of Wyoming is reporting an increase in enrollment. This was reported by Chad Baldwin, AVP of Marketing and Communications with UW.

“It’s good news as the trajectory of higher education has been experiencing a bit of a headwind nationwide,” he stated in an interview with SVI. There has been an idea that higher education doesn’t have the value it once did but things are looking up.

Citing some new ideas for promotion, including the sponsoring of a Buffalo Bills game this past month and utilizing the widespread connection with NFL MVP Josh Allen, Baldwin pointed out the numbers are up in those areas and even more importantly, within the state.

“An investment in getting people to come to UW isn’t just for students to have activities,” he said. “Its for state pride and to stimulate the economy.”

Baldwin emphasized that there are 927 Wyoming students in this freshman class, the second-largest such in-state numbers in 17 years.

“The number of Wyoming residents is up over two-percent as well,” he added. “We’re excited to have a little bit of momentum out there. We have a great product here for people to help set them up for life and careers and it’s a great student experience.”
