• Duo earns Player and Freshman of the Week honors
LARAMIE, Wyo. (Dec. 1, 2025) – The Wyoming Cowboys swept the Old Trapper Mountain West Men’s Basketball Players of the Week honors on Monday. Guard Leland Walker was named the conference’s Player of the Week with Nasir (Naz) Meyer being named Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
The duo helped the Cowboys to a home win over Denver that saw the Pokes scored 64 points in the second half for the most in a second half since Jan. 2, 2010, against Peru State when UW scored 70. The Pokes nearly earned a win at No. 20 Texas Tech falling 76-72 on Sunday. Wyoming is No. 59 in the first NET Rankings of the season by the NCAA.

Walker, the Player of the Week averaged 22 points per game along with four rebounds per night and three assists per game. He shot 53 percent from the field for the week and was a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line. He scored a season-high 28 points for the Pokes at No. 20 Texas Tech, as it was the most by a UW player this season.
Meyer, who earned his second Freshman of the Week honor of the season added 11 points per game. He also added five rebounds per game along with 2.5 assists per night. He shot 53 percent from the field on the week. He scored 14 points off the bench against Denver and added eight at Texas Tech.

The Cowboys return to action on Saturday at 2 p.m. hosting Dartmouth as UW looks to remain undefeated at home this season.
