CHEYENNE (WNE) — The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors announced it is seeking an experienced executive to serve as interim chief executive officer, providing steady leadership while the board prepares for a permanent CEO search and the state enters a period of significant transition.
The interim appointment is expected to last approximately nine to 12 months. The board is accepting applications now and will review them on a rolling basis until the position is filled, with the aim of naming an interim CEO as soon as possible.
The search follows the recent departure of CEO Josh Dorrell, who led the agency for seven years. It comes as Wyoming prepares for a new gubernatorial administration in January and as the Legislature considers potential changes to WBC’s statutes, programs and governance — developments that make continuity of leadership especially important, a WBC news release said.
The board is seeking candidates with senior-level economic development experience, a record of guiding organizations through transition, and credibility working with elected officials, business leaders and regional and local partners. Experience across multiple states or territories is especially valued.
The position is based in Cheyenne, with flexible work arrangements possible, and requires regular travel throughout Wyoming. To apply, candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and three professional references to wbc-applications@ wyo.gov. Questions about the opportunity may be directed to Chava Case, operations director, at chava.case@wyo.gov or 307777-2823.
