In the meantime, the county will host representatives from the schools, municipalities, Forest Service and BLM for a planning meeting from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23.
Amy Butler, Lincoln County Engineer, said the plan will include a review of highways, roads and trails in a comprehensive review.
She advises the meetings will offer the opportunity to look at any specific problem areas.
Mary Crosby, with Lincoln County is also reviewing transportation as it pertains to industry in south Lincoln County.
Thomas McMurtry of Avenue Consultants is assisting with the project and he told SVI Media in an earlier interview, “We’re focusing on the road network, cars, trucks, bikes and walking, everything that encompasses transportation in Lincoln County. And then [we’ll] focus on the improvements.”
McMurtry continued, “We’re working on county roads, paved and gravel, and we will even look at off-road trails and how they access the forest.”
He concluded, “We’re looking at all of those elements to come up with a comprehensive plan for Lincoln County.”
