• Filming will be next week, on the morning of September 9

Co-owners of Yankee Doodles Cafe in Alpine were surprised and excited to receive a phone call from the team of America’s Best Restaurants (ABR). They were anonymously nominated and will be officially featured on ABR on Monday, September 9.

Alyshia Trujillo, Mariah Toucjian and Daniel Perez have known each other for many years while working for the previous owner of Yankee Doodles. As the current co-owners of the cafe, the trio has now owned Yankee Doodles for over six years.

ABR will be filming at Yankee Doodles this coming Monday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. The Yankee Doodles family invites the locals to “Come on out and let’s show America’s Best Restaurants the Yankee Doodles Cafe family! If you’re lucky, you may even be in the background of the episode.”

Trujillo also shared that ABR will have their van out front while they are there.

Yankee Doodles has a Facebook gift card giveaway going on right now, with two potential winners; One will be announced during the filming of ABR and the second will be announced on the Yankee Doodles Cafe Facebook page.

ABR focuses on helping promote restaurants in America. After sharing the news of being featured as one of America’s Best Restaurants Yankee Doodles socials have been exploding with excited patrons saying, “We’ve known this for years!!”, Yay for Yankee Doodles! Awesome food and service…and decor!” and “A True American Cafe. Great staff, great food.” Dozens more have offered up their congratulations to the Yankee Doodle Cafe family and have shared their thoughts on which items the owners should feature for the filming. As of publication, there doesn’t seem to be a sure winner to which menu item is best, because there are so many good items to choose from.

Yankee Doodles Cafe is located at 20 U.S. Route 89 in Alpine and is open six days a week, closed Wednesdays. Opening at 6 a.m., they serve classic American dishes you are sure to love.
