• Person life flighted after shooting themself in the arm

The Star Valley Search & Rescue was dispatched to Greys River on Sunday evening, September 22 for a report of an injured hunter. According to S&R, the hunter called their spouse saying they had shot themself in the arm. The hunter, who was alone in the backcountry, began walking out alone.

“We sent teams from both Alpine and the South End to get to the trail head the hunter went in on,” stated Search & Rescue. “From that point our teams started up the trail. We dispatched a helicopter and EMS to assist. We found the patient walking out on the trail.”

The hunter was assisted the rest of the way down the trail to the waiting helicopter.

“We hope for a speedy recovery,” concluded the Search & Rescue.
